Welcome to Learning to Learn, LLC - Reading Teacher and Tutoring Specialist Jennifer Cimini, M.S. Ed.

My journey towards becoming a teacher began in elementary school, where my love for learning and teaching was ignited. The joy I found in playing school year-round and the children who were always at the heart of my work and life experiences led me to pursue a career as a reading teacher. Earning my teaching degree was a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Every minute and every penny was worth it. At this moment, I knew I had found my place in my adult life as a teacher. Before I knew it, I was stepping into my first year of teaching in 2006, filled with excitement and passion. 

As the years went on and I began to find my niche in the world of education, I started to hone in on my passions, leading me to everything: literacy, educational technology, and the learning brain! Even my thesis, which was passion-driven - The Classroom Environment and the Cognitive Effects on Learning, writing, and research gave me my first platform to showcase my voice for policy and advocacy, and then the journey started. I was consumed with the thirst to know more about humans and how we learn. I haven't haven't stopped yet! 

The children I taught taught me how to holistically take their cues for what they needed to understand and engage successfully. As I delved into this area of self-directed professional development, one theme was threaded: one has to feel, believe, belong, and understand how to find one's calm for self-regulation before authentic and meaningful learning can happen. KIDS FIRST! Every day that went on, I dreamed of running my school, one that held high academic standards, rigor, and relevance, student-centered learning, always for voice and choice in the how and why of education.

I am writing this blog post today because I woke up thinking about my role as a certified classroom teacher turned teacherprenuer owner of a thriving licensed and insured tutoring business. What sets my business apart is my personalized approach to learning. I understand that each student is unique and has different learning needs, and I tailor my lessons to meet those needs. So here's the "tea," as my adult girls would say, about the heart of learningtolearnllc.com. 

I am here for my #community #forallhumans to change the narrative of learning to read and reading to learn for all, not just the few who have a chance! My passion is building #relationships that communicate that achieving your reading goals, building confidence, and a safe learning space is possible! For example, one of my students, Sarah, struggled with reading comprehension. After a few months of tutoring, she improved her reading skills and gained confidence in her abilities.
